Orders Policy

Payment is required before dispatch.

Orders will not be dispatched on Public Holidays, orders placed on these days will be sent out within the next two business days.

Ensure to water your new plants regularly as required – especially across the first and second summers following planting.

Please check plants carefully on arrival and advise Matakana Palms within 24 hours if the plants are not in peak condition, or if there is any difference in the plants delivered from what was ordered.

Plants remain the property of Matakana Palms until paid for in full.

Returns policy

Please read our Terms and Conditions carefully. All sales are final. We are unable to accept returns for change of mind. This policy stands for both our physical nursery and online store, so choose carefully.

Shipping charges are not refunded unless the original item was incorrect.

Damaged Plants

Plants are sent in good faith. We photograph all small plants being packaged for delivery via courier. All plants are couriered at the buyer’s own risk.


We endeavor to represent items as accurately as possible on the website and plant list. 

All prices for goods are shown in New Zealand Dollars and include GST. Prices are subject to change without notice. We endeavour to update our plant list, website and prices at least every month.

Privacy Policy

Matakana Palms respect your right to privacy. We are committed to protecting your privacy when you visit our nursery or contact us in any way. We will only deal with your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993. We won’t store your credit card details. 

All content contained on this website is owned by Matakana Palms. No content may be copied, re-used or reproduced in any way without our prior consent.


Pick up Policy

Please communicate with our team if you require your plants ready for pick up at a particular time. We prefer customers to pick up so they can see what they are buying in person. 

Delivery Policy

Smaller Plants (NZ POST)

All online orders are dispatched Monday to Wednesday and will be dispatched within 24 hours. We prefer to send plants at the beginning of the week so that they avoid the protentional of sitting around in a box. This is also a factor in the warmer months.

We currently use New Zealand Post to send out all of our goods. Our products are sent directly to you from our nursery. You can request a package signature at your own cost if you would like that extra peace of mind.

We do not deliver to P.O.Box addresses, a physical address must be provided for delivery, such as a home or workplace.

The festive season may also cause delays so please be aware that between the 20th of December – 6th of January is a very busy period for both us and NZ Post. To ensure delivery before Christmas, please order with a few days to spare.

Matakana Palms Truck Delivery within Auckland Region

Please note we combine deliveries to lower the cost. Depending on your order, generally, we charge around $60 per order (central Auckland and North) and deliver at least once every 10 business days. Request a quote to confirm the pricing in writing. If it is a one-off delivery it may result in a higher freight fee. Again confirm via a quote in writing.

Drivers are not to be expected to be moving trees around a customer’s property.

Delivery of plants to other parts of New Zealand

We can organise the delivery of plants to other parts of the country including. Auckland, Huntly, Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Matamata, Tauranga, Taranaki, Taupo, Hawkes Bay, Wellington, Palmerston North, Blenheim, Nelson and Christchurch. Request a quote in writing to confirm prices. The price will be determined by the amount/size of plants and the destination.
